We are all equal, more or less, yet at the same time we are inherently different—both physically and, above all, in character. Each of us is unique, a definition unto ourselves. There is the enlightened soul, the genius, the professional, the calm, the quarrelsome, the pacifist, the artist.

Few truly show themselves; many wear a mask, making it hard to grasp the subtle truth because appearances deceive! Some do it for a living, as actors or swindlers; others do it to put on airs, to draw attention, or simply out of imitation.

We all share the same essence, yet at the same time we stand apart in the tiniest details and intimate thoughts. Each Testina is a unique microcosm, a character unto itself: there is the dreamer, the rebel, the wise, the vain. On the surface, they appear as a play of shapes.

But beneath the glaze each one looks at you and seems to say: mind your own fucking business! Some proudly exhibit their true nature, others mask themselves behind fragments of recycled materials, while some use irony to protect themselves from the chaos of the world, or simply to keep to themselves in silence.

Chicca Savino is a versatile Roman artist whose creative evolution spans from pop painting to clay sculpture. Under the guidance of her set-designer grandfather, she shapes works free from rigid ideologies, reflecting a irreverent irony.

Maintaining an ever-positive outlook, her research focuses on the human face, interpreted through a surreal lens. Through the clever reuse of waste materials in the hair of her sculpted heads, she sends a powerful message against environmental damage.
